Understanding replication of standard documents

If all collaborating vaults work with standard documents, file name conflicts can occur when the same documents are imported to all sites. Standard documents are those with the same path and file names, for example, standard parts in Autodesk Inventor Content Center. These conflicts can be avoided by specifying folder paths in all vaults that should not be updated from other sites unless changes are made on a specified master (owner) site. The documents on the master site cannot be updated from remote sites, but must be modified onsite. The standard documents are locked on the remote sites.

To enable standard document support, configure the settings in the Import section of the vault's configuration file as described in the following table:

StandardDocuments

If set to True, enables standard document support. Set to False by default. For more information about standard document replication, see the Meridian Global Collaboration Framework Administrator's Guide.

StandardDocumentsMaster

The name set for the Share Name option of the GCF master site.

StandardDocumentsPaths

A list of paths separated by semicolons that should not be replicated to the other sites.
